my favourite thing about amazon over my standard viewing of old top gear (pirated online... mostly) is it has legit accurate captions! i am addicted to closed captioning!

I thought some parts felt a little forced, but the hypercar bit made up for it. Hopefully they hit their stride in later episodes and The Grand Tour becomes their magnum opus. Eagerly awaiting their continued hijinks and shenanigans

I thought it was their way of saying they won’t be doing the celebrity bit anymore, since that’s was TG’s thing. Or am I reading way too much into it?

Unfortunately, I had to stop partway thru. Not sure if it’s the production, Amazon, or my setup (or my old ears, ahem), but every time they were talking, I’d have to turn it up, then suddenly there was screaming engine or roaring crowd and I was scrambling to turn it down. After the 2nd request from my son to turn it down so he could sleep, and the 83rd dirty look from the missus, I got pizzed and shut it off. Not all home runs, but overall, enjoyable.

I have a few non spoiler thoughts:

1. The LaFerrari is just plain ugly and the side mirrors make it look goofy.

2. Hammond looks like he’s had some plastic surgery. He kind of reminded me of Kenny Rodgers

3. The smiling girl behind Jeremy was distracting. She was smiling almost the entire time. I think her lips closed once.

Not sure what your audio setup is, but some systems have options for dynamic range that will flatten out the audio and make nighttime viewing more palatable.

Turned on CC during The Fall to get some of the Irish accents, and I keep forgetting to shut it off.
